If you are like me, you have more ideas in your head than can ever get sewn. Fortunately, we live in an age where we can use our computers to sew a virtual quilt with unlimited fabric and colour combinations in only a few minutes. For fun, I coloured the Farrago pattern using gorgeous red and green Christmas prints from
Moda. What a pretty piece this would be on a wall, table, or under your Christmas tree. Done in cold blues and silver
lamé, the spikes look like icicles on a frosty winter morning. I've added a few more shards in the side diamonds on this one:
Farrago Pattern # 409 is available on my website. Companion
pre-printed foundations will save even more time, as you will be ready to start stitching at once. A month from today is Christmas Eve!
I WILL not buy this pattern...........I WILL not buy this pattern.........I might buy this pattern.....LOL.....I am luvin the greens and reds........but only a month til Christmas?....but there will be Christmas next year. HMMmmmmmmmmm.....I will look at Dayles on Thursday!
ReplyDeleteWell, Kris...Each block takes about 20 minutes to piece; there are 24 spiked blocks and 6 plain ones for a total of 30 blocks. If you do a block a day, you'll still have a day left over to quilt it! :)

These are gorgeous! in both those colours as well as the original. And I need a new Christmas Tree skirt so since I have the pattern I best get busy. If I ask SAnta for an extra few days before Christms, I may get it done. Oh, I forgot, we're going to be away for Christmas (NL) so I'll have it done before next year......... Yay!!
ReplyDeleteI love the colors of both. I did buy your pattern but will probably only attempt this after the new year!
