Amherst Home Furnishings Fibre Arts Display
Here are some pictures from the week-long display by the Bobbins and Baymist Quilters at the Home Furnishing Store.
The quilts were stunning, and displayed so well in this setting.
Betty MacDonald had several pieces in this show. Her hand quilting is exquisite, and her stitches unbelievably tiny. It's always a special treat to see Betty's work.
I have to admit my favourite was this Oopsey Daisy Quilt by Jean Matthews. The colours of those 30's reproduction fabrics worked so well with the pattern she chose. And look how these feathers are quilted - I love it!
I'm a quilt and pattern designer, award winning quilt maker, author and teacher. Since 1989, I have published well over 300 quilting patterns in magazines such as McCall's Quilting, Quilter's Newsletter, Quilt World, The Canadian Quilter and Quilter's Connection. I have contributed designs to 14 different books and co-authored Canadian Heritage Quilting with Diane Shink.
Fantastic quilts!!
