Christine Dionne-Taylor of Ontario has sent along a picture of her completed Encompassing quilt. Christine's husband Ron works as a captain on one of the huge 'lakers' which ply the Great Lakes. Christine's quilt is a bit larger than the one I originally designed, as she wanted it to fit his bed on board ship. The block is a variation of a Mariner's Compass and as such, was a perfect choice for her sailor husband. I'm guessing it would be pretty safe to say that the compasses used in days of yore have given way to computerized navigational aids.
