To paraphrase Mahatma Gandhi, quilting is its own reward (he actually said 'peace') and to a certain point it is...but it is also work, and I perform best when I know there is a special treat at the end of the projects. Here's how I treated myself:
Granted, I am not at the end of my book projects but I am making great progress on the manuscript and it seemed more sensible to have this now rather than when I finished. Did I need a new camera? Nope. This was all about "want", and I've been wanting this one for awhile. It is red, after all.
I took some pictures of the kids in the backyard to familiarise myself with the settings. Polly chose to climb the apple tree for her shots. With a little cropping, this one might might make her Christmas cards:
Maddie was a bit too distracted by the wind to hold still very long. He lived up to his rapper name given him by our eldest son - Mad.E. - as he chased all over the place after every leaf that moved.
Quilting has been a very rewarding experience for me this month.
Wow, your new camera is trés flash! Good pics of the kitties too, Mad.E will have fun when the leaves start falling in autumn.
ReplyDeleteYay! Good for you! You'll LOVE that new camera! Better tell those kitties to polish up their whiskers as they'll be "in the spotlight" now... lol
ReplyDeleteI think you rewarded yourself very nicely. Now let me think....I am cleaning and trying organize my sewing/laundry room, what a mess it is..What should I reward myself with????? It's gotta be good!!!!
ReplyDeleteRed cameras rock. :) congrats. Sigh. I wish we were neighbors... but maybe we would get nothing done. Lol
