I spent Saturday with the Sackville, N.B. Quilt Guild and what a great day it was. We met in the gym of the Middle Sackville Baptist Church to work on the Maritime Beauty.
As always in a group, the quilters are at different stages in their quilting journey. Some had never done foundation piecing before and others, like Charlene here, knew exactly what to do.
It's always so interesting to see the design worked in so many different colour combinations.
Joan's doesn't show up very well here, but it was a lovely combination of blues on white.
I cannot imagine a friendlier, more welcoming group of quilters; it was an absolute pleasure to spend the day with them. As promised, here's a picture of the Maritime Beauty variation we discussed. The pattern for Maritime Beauty is available here, on my website.
If you are looking for an enjoyable way to spend a day, The Sackville Quilter's Guild is hosting a tea and quilt show this coming Saturday May 11, 2013 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM at the Middle Sackville Baptist Church. Thank you ladies for a wonderful workshop.
So many lovely variations. Looks like a fun and productive day.
ReplyDeleteInteresting to see so many different colourways.....love the green one, too much green is never enough! Hmmm......might have to have a go at your variation too.
