Victoria Quilts Canada - Tantramar Branch
Victoria Quilts Canada, a non profit organization headquartered in Ottawa which makes comfort quilts for people with cancer, is opening a branch in Amherst, Nova Scotia. The Tantramar Branch of VQC will distribute quilts to cancer patients, free of charge, in the north-eastern region of Nova Scotia. Mary Farrow-Sinclair, a native Amherstonian, has been instrumental in getting this chapter organized. Folks attending the N.S. Fibre Arts Festival last October may recall seeing Mary set up with a display on VQC. Mary is moving back to Amherst and is excited to get VQC up and running. All interested persons are welcome to attend the monthly workshops held at the Masonic Hall on Lawrence St in Amherst. The next workshop is July 12, 9:00AM - 3:00PM. Bring your sewing kit & a brown bag lunch & have a fun day. Tea, coffee & cold drinks provided. If you'd like more information, contact treasurer Marilyn Boss at (902) 667-3294 or send an email to: harold.farrow@ns.sympatico.ca
