Ship Ahoy!

So far, I'm liking it a lot!

Ship Ahoy!

Somedays work is too much fun! Today is a "let the machine get the phone" kind of day, as I play with a new design. Fabric everywhere, what fun!

Now to find the perfect shade to sash the ships (try saying that one five times in a row!)

Kind-red Spirits

There are "kindred" spirits and there are "kind" spirits. What a thrill to find this charming ATC in my mailbox yesterday. It was made by Cynthia, the president of the London Friendship Quilter's Guild in London, Ontario.
This is the first fabric postcard I have received in the mail and it came through Canada Post with no problems. No doubt there were many admiring looks as it made its way from London to Amherst. Thanks so much for your thoughtfulness, Cynthia, and also for the support you and your guild offer to Canadian designers.

Anticipation

The derivative, smaller version of the Anne design is finished and now I am working on a full-sized Anticipation. This one is pieced in Maywood Studio fabrics, I think the line was called "He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not." Great colours to use for Anne, and of course the flowers work well also, even though they are daisies and not her favourite buttercups.
These are simple, straightforward pieces and the quilting must match that.
Even with servicing, the machine is still skipping stitches. How frustrating...
