Ended up with four 24-inch log cabin hexagonal table centers with some gorgeous Christmas prints I've been treasuring. Machine quilted them (no longer absolutely terrified, just slightly nervous) and if I do say so, they have the best mitered corners (six corners apiece - lots of practice!) and amazing binding! I'll be proud to give them to my daughter and daughters-in-law (and one for me of course.) It's a good thing you didn't ask about projects in the beginning / planning stages - I have little piles all over the sewing room!
