Elaine's Been Busy!

Elaine Maillet from Clare, Nova Scotia has now officially made my Around The Table set more times than I have!  Her first version was shown in this post.  Since then she has made it twice more, for gifts to her son and his wife, and a set for her daughter.
She also did this pretty blue version as a "Secret Santa" gift for one of her friends.

I had the pleasure of meeting Elaine during last year's Fibre Arts Festival, when she attended my workshop.  Elaine was the winner of the Sew Slip II from this blog and she has certainly put it to good use!  This is a class sample she used to teach a workshop for La Guilde Acadienne de Clare.
Finally, a table topper.  You can see from the back Elaine has mastered stippling for sure!
Thank you, Elaine, for sharing all of this beautiful work. We feel inspired!

  1. Wow. Beautiful work. Now I don't feel so bad about not winning that gadget. Elaine put it to way better use than I would have.

  6. I love the La Guilde Acadienne de Clare pillow -- is that a pattern that you offer, Karen? From the picture, it looks dimensional, what technique was used to make it?

  7. Gorgeous! Elaine does beautiful work and is an inspiration to all the members of La Guilde Acadienne de Clare. As Elaine and I have often discussed our adventure to Amherst at your workshop ( Free Motion for The Absolute Terrified)I know for a fact she does not credit the Sew Slip 11 but the teacher for mastering her stippling.
Elaine's pillow was made from a pattern from the Moda Bake Shop... Fancy Folded Star. And the runner was a pattern from American Patchwork & Quilting magazine 2007 and Elaine's is gorgeous!

  8. Karen, as I take a little 'scroll' through your archived posts, I see that I have had the pleasure of 'meeting' you before, through your quilt patterns in shops in Nova Scotia. Your work is just amazing, and very humbling.
