Santa's Big Trip

Once we hit December, the focus switches to thoughts of Christmas. Santa will be making his trip in 22 short days - are you ready? I'm not! To offer a little incentive and to help get you in the Christmas mood, here's a chance to win a copy of the pattern shown above, Santa's Trip Around The World. Just leave a comment on this post saying what quilty thing you'd like to find under your tree this year. Anyone can enter; like Santa, the pattern can go around the world, whether it be to Toowoomba, Eekum Seekum or Musquodoboit. Draw will be made on Wednesday, Dec. 7. If you already own this pattern (as many of you do, thanks very much!) I'd be pleased to substitute any other of your choice from my website.
Edit: Please make sure I have your email address to contact you. The first comment left below has no profile enabled, so I have no way of knowing how to get in touch. Josie, if you are reading this kindly email me asap.

  2. What a fabulous pattern! Something quilty under the tree, let's see.....I already have machines, lots of fabric, some patterns and books, other tools......perhaps more hours in the day to quilt? That would be a great Christmas gift!

  3. Hi Karen
I am almost ready for Christmas. Actually I am late this year. No I am not one of those always ready people , just that most of the gifts have to go to the other side of the country.
I have lots of quilty things already, but my guys could always give me gift certificates so I could go and buy the patterns I have my eye on. That would be neat.

  4. I really am so blest with all that's in my sewing room but a "Go" die cutter would be an awesome addition! Am just finishing up a large lap quilt for DS and wife for Christmas. Am excited to get to the quilting portion of the project. The "Season" is definitely upon us!

Too early to be ready for Christmas yet., maybe by the 24th. I would love to find an agreement under the Christmas Tree that states that I can have a larger studio. Love the pattern

  10. I asked for a few quilting books. Last year I put rotary blades and charm packs on my list. I was very happy with what I got! There's also a few patterns from certain artists that are on my To-Buy list that I would love to have. In my dream world: a big chest of different colored, high quality thread! Oh, that would be amazing. Love the pattern, thanks so much for the chance to win!

  11. Hi Karen - I have admired that pattern for some time and was pleased to see your give away. I've asked for rotary blades this year from several family members(one can never have too many) and Dad is making me a replica of an antique tool box to store my rulers in.

  12. I am fairly low maintenance so I'd just like some notions - straight pins, marking pencils, a 12 1/2 square ruler, etc. (anything else that Santa can find to help a quilter use up her stash. Thanks for the chance to win your gorgeous pattern.

  13. I guess I'll have to ask Santa for one of those teflon sheets. I didn't know I needed one until I read about them here. You're a bad influence. :) (I really like your Santa's Trip Around the World quilt.)

I don't expect to get anything 'quilty' under the tree. My family wouldn't have a clue what to buy me, but a gift certificate from Connecting Threads would be really fun. I must put that on my list.....

  23. Hey, I would love to get a Sizzix cutter I think. If Santa would bring one, then I wouldn't have to agonize about if I should buy one or not. I'd love to win your pattern. Pick Me, Pick me. It would make a great Christmas in July project!!! Can you tell, I'm planning for summer already!

My quilty tree is well decorated with kindness and help wrapped in the tinsel of friendship.wishing all of you a wonderful Christmas Lynn

  28. I'm new to your blog and just spend half an hour going backwards. I love the variety and how it is interspaced with real life and such warmth.
I borrowed a friends machine to do some free motion (mine is 22 years old and just doesn't like free motion despite different thread, etc etc etc) so now I covet a new machine under my tree. I don't think it is likely to happen so i'd be happy with the correct size templates for my remake of a 1970's grandmother's garden.

  29. Hello Karen,
    I love that pattern!
I must say Christmas is coming a lot faster then I imagined but I will be ready...I would really like to find some embroidery threads under my tree this year. I am playing with my embroidery machine and there is always one color needed in my project that I do have have. I must say when I am practicing my free motion a Karen under my tree would be nice:)
Hope you have a blessed Christmas....
    Hugs,
    Joan
