Quilting Pitfalls

Here's one I hadn't previously considered: the holes in the Swiss eyelet are the perfect size to catch the little toe of my Bernina #24 foot. That took some care to avoid.
Despite that, the double heart border is all quilted.
Now to find some matching fabric for the binding. Nice to have another finish!

  1. Beautiful work on that quilt...love the hearts! Do you have the #43 foot (think that is the number) it is characterized by a plastic dish shape; thinking that foot would not get caught in the eyelet or fabrics like that....should glide right over the surface

  2. Love the double heart border, it looks like some of the lovely wrought iron designs on old verandah railings here.

  8. Your quilt is simply adorable! I've wondered about using eyelet on a quilt. I got some in a box of fabric a while ago (real bargain!!) Did you put it overtop another layer? How is it for the batting coming out the holes? Could you give some hints about this? Thanks in advance.
